Ryan takes on Parish Walk for Diabetes IoM
10 May 2024 @ 10:56
Local lad Ryan Healy is hoping to complete the Parish Walk for a third time, and this year he's raising money for Diabetes Isle of Man.
For those who don't know, the Parish Walk is an 85.2 mile endurance event that takes place annually, and this year the walk is taking place on Saturday 22nd into Sunday 23rd June.
Ryan is no stranger to the event and has completed the walk twice previously, but this year has chosen to raise funds and awareness for Diabetes Isle of Man as his Dad, Graeme, lives with the condition.
'I have completed it the last 2 years but have not done it for a charity before, so I thought this year I would try and raise some money whilst doing so. I have picked Diabetes Isle of Man as my Dad, Graeme, as well as many other people on the island suffer from diabetes, and I would like to play my part in raising some funds for a great cause and charity. I am hoping to finish it with a time of 20/21 hours this year (previous was 23 hours 45 minutes and 23 hours 15 minutes)'
Thank you so much for choosing to raise funds for us Ryan, your support and awareness raising means so much and will help so many people. Wishing you lots of luck and we're sure you'll get that 21 hour target! We're all behind you!
